Parents,
This is an informational letter to let you know about our upcoming Summer Baseball Program we will be
offering here at Norman North. We are trying to get the information out to you as soon as possible so
you can be prepared. There will be more information to come as we get closer to summer. I hope this
letter helps you have a better understanding of what we will be doing this summer.

WHO: The summer baseball program is for our incoming 8 th graders and freshmen who will be selected
from the tryout on May 7th.

**Note** There will be a tryout for all incoming 8 th graders and freshmen May 7 th at the NN Baseball
facility.

To be 8 th graders will try out at 5pm

Incoming freshman will try out at 7pm

We will determine at that time which players we will be bringing into our summer program. After we
have made our decision, we will post the names of those who made the team on the Norman North
Baseball Website at www. Normannorthbaseball.org. There will also be additional information on the
website for parents in regards to a mandatory parent meeting to answer any questions they might
have as well as meet the coaches and members of the booster club.

WHAT: Our teams will play in the Red Dirt League. We will have 2 teams in the summer program.

Freshman Team— those who will be entering their freshman year

Middle School team—incoming 8 th graders at Whittier and Longfellow Middle Schools

The cost of Summer Baseball will be 300 dollars. Payment instructions will be given on the post tryout
letter given after the tryout.

The cost for summer baseball will cover our summer budget which includes, but is not limited to:

League Entry Fees and Insurance, field rental fees,, coaching stipends, equipment, field materials, field
maintenance, and uniforms and apparel.

The only thing you will need to purchase is a good pair of white game pants. We will provide the rest.

WHEN: The season will begin May 28 and end June 26. We are asking that you make a serious
commitment to be present at every game if you are going to play for us this summer. If there are
conflicts, please communicate those to the coach in charge of your team. League games will be double
headers. We will get the finalized schedules to you once they are completed and we get closer to
summer. All games will be Monday-Wednesday each week.

WHERE: All summer games will be played at Norman North or the away site for the team you are
traveling to play. Almost all games will be played locally in the metro area.

WHY: We feel summer baseball is all about development. It is imperative that the young men in this
program play summer baseball for Norman North to continue to grow and develop as an individual and
as teammates. This has to occur for us to continue to compete at such a highly competitive level in 6A.
The summer is the best time to teach the game as well as be able to evaluate the players coming into
our program as we get ready for the 2025 season.
